If you’re troubleshooting an issue in the forums, you may wish to attach a file (such as a log file or a screenshot) to your post. To do so, you’ll need to access the more advanced posting options in the forum.
Accessing the Upload Form
When replying to an existing discussion or creating a new one, click the file icon dropdown in the formatting bar.
Using the File Attachment Form
Using the form is as simple as either dragging and dropping a file into the specified area or else using the Browse button to open a standard file selection dialog.
Tip!: If you get a message about the format not being allowed, try zipping up your file and then attaching the zip.
If you’re using an image that’s hosted elsewhere, you can also paste in the URL to the image into the form directly.
Large or Unsupported Files
In some cases, you may have a large file that you wish to attach. In the case of most Plex log files, you can first “zip” the files up to compress them and make them smaller. This should help ensure that they’re small enough to post.
If you have larger files such as video samples, you likely won’t be able to attach them to a forum post as they’ll be too large. Instead, you can upload them to a cloud storage provider such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar and then share a link to the file.
