Camera Upload is being discontinued in June 2021. For more information see the forum announcement.
Tip!: The Camera Upload feature requires an active Plex Pass subscription for the account signed in on the Plex App.
When opening Camera Upload for the first time, there will be certain defaults associated with it. You can, of course, change the default selections if you desire.
For most apps, Camera Upload will use the following default options:
- Library: the “Mobile Photos” library on your primary Plex Media Server
- Album: None
If using the defaults, the “Mobile Photos” library will be automatically created for you.
Tip!: If you choose to specify a custom location for the library, you’ll need to ensure that Plex Media Server (or, more specifically, the user account on the computer under which the server is running) has permission to access and write to the location.
Default Destination for Uploaded Photos
When using the default “Mobile Photos” library, content will be uploaded to your server in a set location by default. That location will vary depending on the operating system used, but is the
/Media Upload/Mobile Photos directory inside the main Plex Media Server data directory.
If you manually create a different library through the Camera Upload settings, it will be located under the “Media Upload” directory noted below.
