Pre-play screen

Warning!: Plex Home Theater is deprecated and no longer in development. We have focused our efforts on the newer Plex Media Player app instead and recommend moving to that app.

The pre-play screen shows you information about a media item. To see the pre-play screen for an item:

  • Choose the item in either the On Deck blade or inside the Library
  • Press Enter or the main button on the remote

The pre-play screen is shown. The pre-play screen shows you information like:

  • Genre, censorship rating and star rating
  • Plot synopsis, director/actor etc.
  • Video information shuch as resolution, audio track format etc.
  • Currently selected audio/subtitle track

Action Bar

The Action Bar on the left lets you:

  • – Play the item
  • – Select the Audio Track
  • – Select the Subtitle Track
  • – Set the Star rating
  • – Set the Watched or Unwatched status

Select the Audio Track

If the show has more than one audio track, you can select the one to use. To do this:

  • Choose the Select Audio Track icon
  • Choose the track to use from the list

Select the Subtitle Track

If the show has more than one subtitle track, you can select the one to use. To do this:

  • Choose the Select Subtitle Track icon
  • Choose the track to use from the list

Set the Star rating

To set the Star rating for a show::

  • Choose the Set Star Rating icon
  • Set the rating

Set the Watched status

You can change the watched status for a show using the Watched controls. To do this:

  • – Set the show as Watched
  • – Set the show as Un-watched

Exit the Pre-play screen

To return to the main Library view or Home screen:

  • Press ESC or Menu on the remote
  • If you entered the pre-play screen from the Library view, you'll return there
  • If you entered the pre-play screen from the On Deck blade, you'll return there
