Item Preplay Screen

The item preplay screen provides a rich navigation experience tailored to each type of media, whether browsing related movies, accessing movie extras, finding your favorite television episode, or finding the perfect track in a music album.

Movies

The preplay screen for movies offers a rich, content-filled overview for your movie. You can access related movies based on similar characteristics, view extras, see the currently selected audio/subtitle track, and even watch the trailer.

Action Bar

The action bar to the left of the screen offers a range of actions.

  •  Play/Resume - Start or resume playback.
  •  Playback Options - Choose to start playback from the beginning (visible only if the movie is partially watched), or select a version.
  •  Play Trailer - View the main trailer for the movie.
  •  Extras, Related - Access movie extras and trailers, as well as view related movies along with movies that share the same actor, genre, or director.
  •  More - Mark the movie has Watched/Unwatched, or quickly jump to the library that contains the current movie.

Next/Previous Preplay Screen

The Next/Previous buttons (next to the "Go Home" button) allow you to move directly between preplay screens for items in the current container.

Extras, Related

The movie preplay screen provides access to extras and trailers and an engaging way to discover relating content. Simply select the  action bar button to view related movies along with movies that share the same actor, genre, or director.

TV Shows

The preplay screen for television content expands on a similar experience to Movies. You can quickly jump to a season, start playing the On Deck episode, or even queue up the show or season for a viewing marathon.

Action Bar

The Show, Season, and Episode preplay screens share a very similar "Action Bar" that allows you to perform a number of things.

  •  Play - Start playback.
  •  Resume - Resume playback of an individual episode. (visible only on the episode preplay screen if the episode is partially watched).
  •  Shuffle - (visible only when viewing the show or season preplay screen).
  •  More - Toggle "Info" for the show; mark an episode as watched/unwatched (available on the episode preplay screen); or jump to the show, season, or television library directly.

Note: Shuffle is available only when viewing a show or season.

Next/Previous Preplay Screen

 

The Next/Previous buttons (next to the "Go Home" button) allow you to move directly between show and episode preplay screens.

Season Preplay Screen

When browsing at the season level, you can instantly start playing a particular episode, view an episode's preplay screen, shuffle the season for playback, and quickly jump back to the related show.

Episode Preplay Screen

The episode level offers metadata rich details, including available audio and subtitle tracks, duration, and synopsis. You can quickly jump back to the show or season from the More action bar button, as well as change the individual episode's watched status.

Music

The preplay screen for music is clean, yet provides a range of options. You can read artist bios, find similar artists, browse their albums, and even watch their music videos!

Action Bar

The Artist and Album preplay screens share a very similar "Action Bar" that allows you to perform a number of things.

  •  Play - Start playback.
  •  Shuffle - Shuffle the artist's tracks, or the current album.
  •  More - View Info on the artist or album or jump back to the artist or music library directly.

Album Preplay Screen

When viewing an album's preplay screen you have the ability to play the album or an individual track, shuffle the album, view the album's review, and jump back to an album's artist preplay screen.

Track Context Menu

Navigating to the right while highlighting a track allows you to select the ... menu which offers the ability to start a Plex Mix, or play the music video that matches the current track.
