There are several reasons why you might not get the right subtitles. Currently, no error or message is given if a matching subtitle file isn’t found on OpenSubtitles.org. You’ll only notice that your preferred language subtitle isn’t available.
No Subtitle Available for the Selected Language
Checking for a failure to fetch a subtitle file from OpenSubtitles.org has to be done by inspecting logs. To do this:
- Navigate to
/PMS Plug-in Logs/com.plexapp.agents.opensubtitles.log
- Open the log file
- Look for the item you’re having trouble with
Related Page: Plex Media Server Logs
An easy way to do this is to open the log file, then Plex Web App. Hover the mouse over the item and click the Refresh button that slides up. The last entry in the log will be OpenSubtitles activity for that show.
