Tip!: The ability to adjust video playback speed requires an active Plex Pass subscription or to be in the Plex Home of a server admin that has Plex Pass.
Playback Speed Controls allow for speeding up or slowing down playback in some of our player/client apps. The feature is not available on all platforms, as some of them cannot support the functionality or have too many limitations to be considered useful for playback.
During playback, open the playback settings to toggle between speed adjustment increments.
- Available speed increments:
0.5x
,0.75x
,Normal
,1.25x

- Stopping playback will reset the playback speed to Normal

Notes and Limitations
There are several limitations and things to be aware of, when it comes to adjusting video playback speed:
- It will not be available during playback of a “Watch Together” session
- The playback speed of Live TV cannot be adjusted (whether from our free Live TV streaming or from a DVR set up on a Plex Media Server)
- The playback speed for our free, ad-supported, on-demand Movies & Shows content can be adjusted, but the ad breaks will always play at normal speed
- “Frame Rate Matching” functionality will be disabled for the session on most platforms
- Passthrough of audio will not be available in most cases and will typically require audio to be transcoded or decoded locally on the device
